The Seven Spirits Before The Throne of God - The Spirit of Might
A couple of weeks ago as I lay in bed, I heard in my spirit, "Judgement is coming...get right".
I thought, "Lord what does that mean?"
The Spirit of God led me to 2 Chronicles 7:14, "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
We (America) need healing in our land as never before. Once built on "One nation under God", we are now a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah.
In Genesis 18:20 - Genesis 19:29, the Lord and two angels visit Abraham. The Lord tells Abraham about his plan to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. Abraham asks the Lord if fifty righteous people can be found, will He still destroy the city.
God replies, "...if I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for the fifty righteous that are therein.” Genesis 18:26
Abraham goes on to ask God if he would still destroy the city if 45 righteous are found, then 40, then 30, then 20 and finally 10. The Lord replies each time that He will spare all the places where the righteous are found.
Two angels arrive at the city gate and Lot (Abraham's nephew) greet the angels. He presses upon the angels to stay at his house instead of staying in the street all night. Just before the angels lay down, the bible says "all the people from every quarter" surround Lot's house. They demand for Lot to bring the two angels out of the house so they can rape them. Lot offers his two virgin daughters instead but the people approach to break the door. The angels smite the men with blindness and instruct Lot to take his family and leave the city. God destroys the city.
"Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire." Jude 1:7
"Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen." Ezekiel 16:49 - 50
America has been defiled and we need healing. We need revival and that will only come if we, the people of God humble ourselves and pray and seek the face of God and turn from our wicked ways.
The fruit of our disobedience is manifesting more and more every day; Marshall law being enacted for Ferguson and Baltimore, threats and attacks on US soil from terrorists, tornados, hurricanes, wild fires, mortgage and banking scandals, school shootings, teachers having inappropriate relations with children, rebellious children, more than 50% of Christian marriages are ending in divorce and much more. We are at war and this war is spiritual. "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephesians 6:12
If this war is spiritual then our weapons must be spiritual. "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds." Another translation says, "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds." 2 Corinthians 10:4
How can we demolish strongholds? Being empowered by the Spirit of Might.
The Spirit of Might is another expression of the Holy Spirit. "...Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the Lord of hosts." Zechariah 4:6
Might in Hebrew means power, inner strength and mighty deeds. When the Spirit of Might is working in and through us, we see the glory of God; His manifested power.
The Spirit of Might enabled Samson to tare a lion apart with his bare hands (Judges 14:6), to kill a thousand men with the jawbone of a donkey (Judges 15:15) and destroy the pillars of the temple killing over three thousand men and women (Judges 15:28 - 30).
People of God, just as God was willing to spare the destruction of Sodom if 10 righteous people were found, I believe He will spare America if enough righteous people are found. We hold the future of America in our prayers. If we humble ourselves, pray and seek the face of God and turn from our wicked ways then God will relent and not destroy us just as He did with Nineveh.
When Jonah went to Nineveh and told the people they had forty more days until they would be overthrown. The people of Nineveh believed God and they fasted and prayed. When God saw how they turned from their evil ways, he relented and did not bring on them the destruction he had threatened. (Jonah 3)
If we choose to continue on a path of destruction then America will experience judgement as never before. “For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now – and never to be equaled again.” Matthew 24:21
"It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God" Hebrews 10:31. Will you seek the face of God today and ask the Spirit of Might to grant you a willing spirit to sustain you? We need revival!
